What is ITQ?

Many learners may be asking the question, what is ITQ? ITQ (Information Technology Qualification) are updated nationally-recognised programmes which have been designed by employers to meet the needs of today's businesses. ITQ qualifications are extremely flexible and can be mapped to the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) portfolio of certifications, enabling learners to gain ITQ qualifications at levels 1, 2 and 3. ITQ qualifications are listed by QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) and therefore maybe eligible for funding in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Improving Productivity Using IT

The Improving Productivity Using IT unit can be tested via a series of scenarios created by BCS (British Computer Society). Learners must provide a portfolio of evidence via two separate sections, Performance and Knowledge. The performance section consists of learner’s completing a senior using either a word-processing, spreadsheets or presentations application. The knowledge section consists of twelve multiple choice questions relating to productivity.

Exams Process

Candidates have 1 hour to complete both sections, the pass mark is 75% for performance and 75% for knowledge sections and a candidate must pass both parts to successfully achieve the module. By gaining an ITQ qualification learners can show competence in the use of ICT (Information Communication Technology) applications, which are commonly used within the workplace and their ability to maintain a high level of productivity.
