The performance section consists of learner’s completing a senior using either a word-processing, spreadsheets or presentations application. The knowledge section consists of twelve multiple choice questions relating to productivity. The ITQ Improving Productivity Using IT unit was originally initiated into the 2009 revamped ITQ (Information Technology Qualification) syllabus but in 2010 was additionally incorporated into the ECDL course syllabus range. Unit E was not used outside the UK and formed part of the ECDL V4.0/v4.5 syllabus which ceased on the 31st August 2010, making "UNIT E" no longer valid in the syllabus. Usually there is a 24 hour time period before the learner can retake the failed module. Learners are encouraged to assess their weaker areas and gain the required knowledge via course materials to pass, prior to their second attempt.
