In 2008 the ECDL and ICDL Foundations conducted a substantial review of its ECDL and ICDL Core syllabus v4.5 in order to ensure that it reflected ongoing advances in technologies and relevant practices.  An updated syllabus v5.0 was launched in early 2009, this will be phased in by national operators during 2009 - 2010.  For more information on syllabuses updates and downloads available please view our ECDL and ICDL Syllabuses 2009 - 2010 information.

Express Training

In today’s current economic climate it's more vital than ever to have the right certification to successfully pursue employment opportunities. With this in mind, every second can count in finding new employment, making a career change or gaining that much needed and deserved promotion. At learn-new-skills-from-home, we can help you achieve your qualifications quickly and cost-effectively via express training.

How It Works

Our unique course design structure allows learner's who have prior Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) applications subject knowledge to learn their chosen advanced module (Word-Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases and Presentations) via express training.  Express training means learner's can simply and quickly identify areas in their current skills set that need additional study to gain the ECDL Advanced or ICDL Advanced qualification.  Please note that the ECDL Advanced and ICDL Advanced exam criteria's, exams and regulations are identical. Our express training method works in the following way:

""

Simply select your desired Microsoft application subject (Word, Excel, Access or PowerPoint) and application versions (2003, 2007 or 2010) from Our Courses page.

""

Look through the 20 typical ECDL Advanced and ICDL Advanced exam questions listed and identify your areas of strength and weakness.

""

Attempt questions you feel are areas of weakness first.

""

Check the questions attempted with the answers given.

""

Reattempt the questions till you feel confident with them (use the provided glossary and member's area to help reinforce your knowledge base).

""

Attempt all 20 questions until you can complete them within the stated exam time limit, usually set at 1 hour (except for those candidates who have special needs requirements).  For more information on examination guidelines, please visit our Exams Process page.

""

When you feel confident enough to take your chosen ECDL Advanced or ICDL Advanced exam, contact your local testing centre. A booking time period of one week prior to the exam is usually required, please visit our Exams Process page for further information.

To view our ECDL Advanced and ICDL Advanced course materials style, usability and typical questions encountered within the official examinations, simply visit our ECDL Advanced and ICDL Advanced Course List page and select your required advanced course module (Advanced Word-Processing, Advanced Spreadsheets, Advanced Databases or Advanced Presentations), for your desired 2003, 2007 or 2010 office version.

What If You Need More?

Our learning style is aimed to provide training materials for learners to achieve their goals quickly, conveniently and cost-effectively. To achieve our learning method, learners are advised to already have some prior subject knowledge of their chosen advanced module (Word-Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases and Presentations). We appreciate that learners may also require a more in-depth approach to achieve the advanced module syllabus criteria, so we have added an online store in association with Amazon that displays many other reputable products that will meet theses learner’s needs.
