eSkills Career Tool

The eSkills Career Tool (supplied by the ECDL Foundation) is not intended to be a formal ICT (Information and Communication Technology) test, or to be used as a serious career resource. It is a fully interactive quiz that will enable you to gauge what your strengths and weaknesses are in relation to your ICT computer skills and how they might be relevant to the development of your career.

The 27 multiple choice questions are designed to test your current computer knowledge in the most commonly used areas of ICT.  The tool will indicate which computer skills areas are needed for a particular career and suggest which ECDL Advanced or ICDL Advanced certification programme will enable you obtain these particular computer skills.

The eSkills Career Tool is specifically designed for ICT workers who wish to upgrade their skills-set for the advancement of their current career or for those who are trying to determine what ICT computer skills would be best suited to a new career direction. (any of the personal data volunteered by you is anonymous, and will only be stored for the duration of the test).

Career Tool Aims:

Gathers general data about your ICT experience and training

Questions relating to common end-user application skills

Certifications and career paths that may be of interest to you

Career Tool Outcomes:

Highlights key end-user eSkills areas that are relevant for many careers

Aids thinking about the types of skills and certifications relevant to you

Suggest possible ICT career paths that you may want to follow

Please Note:

The eSkills Career Tool isn't a formal test, it's simply a way of showing your current eSkills and the skills needed for various ICT careers, in which by gaining the ECDL or ICDL qualification could enhance your chances of achieving.
